2004-05    Mentorship with Anne Green Gilbert at the Creative Dance Center, Seattle, WA. Assisted with a creative modern class for 6-8 year-olds. Attended Gilbert’s summer teaching institute (2004.)

2003-04    Ensemble Training/Performance Lab: co-founded and lead a 3 hour weekly ensemble training for actors and dancers.

1999-2007Capoeira (Afro-Brazilian dance and martial art): lead and assisted classes and workshops in Seattle and Salvador, Brazil. Worked with classes of 5-6 year-olds, at-risk middle school students, at-risk and racially disadvantaged teenagers, and adults.

2007-         The Field Seattle, Steering Committee: one of four steering committee members involved in the functioning and perpetuation of The Field Seattle, a peer-artist group dedicated to providing artists with tools to give and receive feedback on their works and works-in-progress. We run six, 10-week sessions yearly – a writing and performance session run three times per year.
2005          Acrophotography: artwork derived from the kinesthetic and sensorial experience of dance from the dancer’s point of view. My work can be viewed at www.littlecityjournal.com.
                  Press Contact for the AXIS Dance Company Summer Intensive: created press release, contacted local and national newspapers, television programs and stations, magazines and radio stations. Helped secure a spot on The Beat at KUOW, local NPR station. Currently writing an article about integrated dance for “Contact Quarterly.”
2005          Publicity/Design for 2005 Dance Majors Concert at the University of Washington, created photodesign for e-mail, posters and postcards, distributed/posted these items.
2005          Program Designer for Spin Concert at the University of Washington, created program layout design for this concert.
Videography: Created two dance for camera videos: “Where Light Meets Darkness” and “Portrait of Blanche.” “Portrait of Blanche” was presented at the ACDF (American College Dance Festival) Dance for Camera Screening, Bellingham, Washington.


RESEARCH EXPERIENCE


2005    Seattle Modern Dance History: currently involved in a long-term history project, involving extensive interviews and archival research. I have given two lectures/presentations thus far; one as part of the UW Undergraduate Research Symposium, May 2005; another as part of the Dance Program’s graduate student research presentations, June 2005. My long-term goal is to put together a small book to be used as part of dance history courses at the University of Washington and the Cornish School of Arts.

1996         Molecular Physics Research, REU program, Stanford Research Institute International, summer; Conducted independent research involving laser analysis; presented 1-hour oral synopsis of research.

WORK EXPERIENCE

2000-        Copy Editor/Translation Coordinator for Study in the USA: publishing company that produces 10 annual magazines in five languages and distributes half a million magazines per year to more than 90 countries. I work with Spanish and Portuguese copies, editing texts in these languages, as well as English.

2003-         Freelance writer/ proofreader: currently writing press releases for the non-profit, Bonneville Environmental Foundation; have written web pages for small businesses; edited/proofread professional articles; am currently writing a feature-length article for the dance journal, Contact Quarterly.

2004          Personal Organizer, summer, assisted University of Washington professor in preparing application materials for tenure.
